Sibley's Campaign against hostile Sioux Indians September 13-November 14. Battle of Wood Lake, Yellow Medicina, September 23. A detachment of Regiment march from Fort Snelling to relief of Fort Abercrombie on Red River September 11-October 5, then Joined Regiment at Camp Release. Duty at Fort Snelling reorganizing until January 16, 1863. Moved to Cairo, Ill., January 16-26, 1863, thence to Columbus, Ky., February 3, and duty there until March 12. Regiment concentrated at Jacksonport and moved to Duvall's Bluff August 29, Mustered out September 2 and discharged at Fort Snelling, Minn., September 16, 1865.

Regiment lost during service 17 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 4 Officers and 275 Enlisted men by disease. Total 296.
